A long time ago … okay, two weeks ago, on a beach not so far away, I had a lovely vacation. I sat and read and ate and hiked. I watched otters and seals and lots of kelp that look like otters. It’s been a tough year for reasons, and I was looking forward to that week for a while.
And now it feels like it was so long ago. Nonetheless, I realize how fortunate I am to be able to take that time and go somewhere with friends. Speaking of fortunate, this is a recent picture from an outdoor garden in my area of Canada.
Writing update
I also wrote while I was away — I rarely take a break from that, though I definitely have slow periods. I have a plan for The Lyra Cycle to write stories for each of the crew on how they ended up on the ship. I started with Kandi. The one I’m writing now is about Grim — yes, the cat. I have one section to finish … and then, of course, editing, but keep an eye out for it. It’ll be published first over on Armchair Alien.
Books for your TBR shelf
In the meantime, check out this free book by C. Gockel — the description has me at the first line:
In the year 2432, humans think they are alone in the universe. They're wrong.
Happy reading!
