Today is Canada Day for those who celebrate. And yes, for those who don’t know, I' am Canadian. If you notice words that are ‘misspelled’, it might just be because of a conscious choice on my part to use Canadian English.
My usual activities are either hiking in nature or working the garden. Since I’m writing this a few days ahead of time, it’s a mystery what it will be.
However, I did a crazy thing this year. In past years, I’ve shared pictures of my allotment garden. There are some issues with that allotment, partly that it’s far from where I live, so when I learned of a new allotment garden barely a 10 minute bike ride away, I decided to sign up there.
But I’d already signed up for the year at the old place. So I had two gardens. The new garden was nice, and I knew I’d be giving up the old one … but the plots were small.
However, the same gardens had 1/8 acres … which might get scooped up by next year. So…
Yeah, insanity. Luckily, I’m not alone in my insanity.
Writing update
Hopefully as I write this book 4 in the Lyra Cycle is off to the beta reader! I do have one big outstanding item to deal with though.
Now I need to find where I put the notes on possible titles. 😂
Books for your TBR shelf
Stock up on summer sci-fi reads (or winter if you’re in the antipodes) and discover new authors with these free stories.
Currently I’m reading a book on ink. Yes, the ink you write with (not tattoos, though that would also be great) … well, so far it’s about pens generally. More on that next time? Are you a reader of non-fiction books like that? Any quirky books on niche subject you can recommend?
Happy reading!
